Preschool Science Explorers
An opportunity to explore the natural sciences using a see, touch and do approach.
Who: Children in Cross Roads'
4 yr. old classes and Enrichment classes
When: Mondays, starting Sept.13, 2010 continuing till May.
Time: 11:30-12:15. Classroom teachers will walk the children to Room 208 (upstairs). If your child is in the Tues./Thurs. am class or the Tues./Wed./Thurs. pm 4 year old class, they can still enroll but a parent would bring them to room 208. Pick-up will be at 12:15 at room 208.
Teacher: June Batson . Mrs. Batson worked as a Natural science Academy teacher at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History for 10 years. She developed and taught programs for camp Earth, preschool through 8th grade science classes, home school classes and enrichment classes for Girl Scouts on a variety of subjects from Biology, Paleontology, and Anthropology. She has current clearances on file with Cross Roads Preschool.
Cost:
$24.00 a month for 3 Mondays per month. (Class is 45 minutes)
(Each month has only 3 Mondays that we have school. No class Nov. 22 or 29.)
Some of the fall topics will be: animal defenses, animal adaptations, nocturnal animals, tracking, Native Americans, Bats, Owls, etc. These topics will be an extension of the topics taught in the regular classrooms.
**Class sizes are limited in both programs. You may withdraw on a monthly basis.**
Registration will be on a first come, first served basis. We can accept 18 children. Please give your registration to your child's classroom teacher. Please include the $24 tuition with your December payment. You will always be a month ahead like you are with the classroom tuition. No payment in May. You will be refunded if you choose to withdraw.
