Prayer Concern:
Please keep Chuck Doege and the family in your prayers. Earlier this week, Chuck went to the Forbes Hospital emergency room after feeling some numbness and other symptoms. Testing confirmed that Chuck did have a stroke. While his condition is improved and stable, he remains in Forbes Hospital for additional testing. On Thursday, word had come that Chuck's cousin, Debbie Remaley, who was on our prayer list in the past for a brain tumor, went to be with the Lord. Keep Chuck and the extended family in your prayers as they deal with all of these difficulties.

This Week in Worship:
Jesus warns of the need for decisive action in accord with the demands of the Reign of God. Yes, Jesus is the embracing, accepting Savior of the world. And yet, at the same time, Jesus is the demanding, commanding Savior of his disciples. To be a follower of Jesus, to find oneself in the "inner circle" of his disciples, is to be held to a high standard of accountability. My sermon is based on Mark 9:38-50.

Christian Education for all ages begins at 9:15 am. I will lead the Seasons of the Spirit Bible Study, in the parlor, as we examine our focus scripture Esther 7:1-10; 9:20-22. The Faithworks Class meets in the Fellowship Hall. The Childrens classes (2 yr.-old through grade 5) meet in the Sanctuary at 9:15 am for their opening excercises, and then disperse to their apppropriate classroom. Older children and youth are to go directly to their classroom.

Following worship, our Sr, High Youth Group is sponsoring the Stockholder Luncheon. While we sample some of the same types of food that was eaten during the trip to Salisbury, Mission Trip participants will share with us their stories of the trip. Fred Schirm put together a wonderful powerpoint presentation of pictures taken throughout the meek of the mission trip to help us see what actually takes place during the week.

The Children's Choir will rehears at 5:00 pm in the Choir Room.

There is a Dinner Theater rehearsal at 5:00 pm at the Metz's. Senior High Youth Group follows at 6:30 pm, also at the Metz's home. The address is 2087 Haymaker Road.

Check out our church web site at www.crossroadspresbyterian.com for more activities and other ways to be involved in the life of your church!

I look forward to seeing you soon!

In Christ,
Pastor Rob
