Hello Friends,
The area has been slammed with a lot of snow over the past week. For good reason, school and many other activities are being cancelled. Municipal street departments are doing their best to clear the roads of snow and ice. Removing the snow from driveways and sidewalks can also be very difficult. It is good to see neighbor helping neighbor during this series of snow storms. I am hearing stories of how people are doing their best to help other people - Clearing snow, providing groceries, watching children for those who must be at work, etc. I would encourage each of you to check on neighbors who may be in need of assitance because of the snow. It is in times such as these when the body of Christ, the church, needs to be there for others. Do as you are able to help others during this difficult time. If you come across a situation that you are unable to resolve and could use some further assistance, let me know. I will put out a plea for assistance via email. Make every effort to ensure the safety of our neighbors. I would also like to inform you of some good news. I spoke with Jo Wheat this morning. Jo had surgery on Monday to implant a device that is supposed to take away the pain that she has in her back and legs. Jo informed me that the device is working! She is experiencing less pain than before the implant. What great news it is to hear that Jo is doing well following her surgery. She shold be coming home later in the week. Please keep Jo and Bill Wheat in your prayers for continued healing. Snow removal at the church property is going pretty well. A special thank you goes out to DJ Zappa for assiting our snow removal contractor in clearing the lots and driveways of the excessive amount of snow! Even so, please note that J.A.M. is cancelled for this evening. Ms. Rennie will communicate with those involved to plan the next J.A.M. meeting. Also, there will not be Jr. High Youth Group this evening. Stay home and be safe! The snow continues to fall. Let us know if you need assitance. My cell phone number is 412-926-8604. A reminder that the annual Congregation/Corporation meeting is scheduled for This Sunday - February 14, 2010, following worship. The Youth will provide lunch as a fund-raiser for their summer mission trip. The meeting will follow lunch. A PDF file of the 2009 Annual Report is available on-line at our web site www.crossroadspresbyterian.com. Look on the home page for the link to the annual report. In Christ, Pastor Rob |
