Hello Friends!

Worship on Sunday, December 6 - Second Sunday in Advent:
The sermon is titled “The Introduction,” and is based on Luke 3:1-6. The good news of Jesus Christ opens with John the Baptist who appears proclaiming, "Prepare the way of the Lord." In his introduction of Jesus, John tells us just enough about Jesus to set the stage for God's great move on the world in the Incarnation. John the Baptist prepares us for the onslaught of divine love and mercy that encounters us in Jesus.
We will also receive our “Gift of the Fourth Wiseman” offerings during worship today!

Adult Education for Sunday:
We welcome back the Rev. Dr. Jim Davison, from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, to lead the Faithworks class. He will lead a discussion on: "The Soul of Scripture: Some Insights for a Fulfilling Life" We tend to think of the Bible as a book about God, and so it is. However, it is also a book about wisdom - wisdom for living a deep and meaningful life. It contains rich insights into questions like these: How can you best approach life to find fulfillment, happiness, and meaning? How can you live so that, in your later years, you can look back over your life with contentment and satisfaction? In this two-week series, we will reflect on the wisdom the Bible offers, especially in light of the message of the Advent season.

Please note, there will be no Seasons of the Spirit class on Sunday, December 6 or December 13. All are welcome to attend the Faithworks class to welcome Dr. Davison back to Cross Roads!
